#FAnews | Emerging footwear brand RAD launches its 2025 Spring/Summer “Black and White” collection
RAD is a bold new label born from a partnership between Hong Kong-based leather footwear brand HOAX and Japanese designer Seiji Takaishi. Rooted in a philosophy of functional fashion, RAD fuses cutting-edge technology with traditional craftsmanship to reimagine classic shoe silhouettes, integrating the iconic Vibram® sole across its designs. RAD now debuts two fresh styles: the “DIEGO” Trainers and the “CALE” Hybrid Penny Loafers.
The fashion scene has recently embraced the Blokecore trend, blending sportswear staples like jerseys into daily wear. Drawing inspiration from this, the “DIEGO” Trainers take cues from classic football shoes, featuring an iconic fold-over tongue. This tongue, stamped with RAD’s signature star emblem, is detachable for customizable styling. Made from premium calfskin, the trainers boast padded edging and tongue for enhanced support and protection, paired with a Vibram® outsole that marries utility with sleek design. The “CALE” Hybrid Penny Loafers, meanwhile, build on RAD’s hybrid concept, crafted in striking black-and-white calf leather. Combining a robust Vibram® running sole with a hand-stitched Moccasin toe, they effortlessly blend practicality with artisanal finesse.
In a special collaboration, RAD joins forces with Hotel Keychain Co., Ltd to present an all-black horsehair iteration of the “CALE” Hybrid Penny Loafers. This edition comes with a custom-cast commemorative coin, designed to slot into the shoe’s upper, channeling classic Ivy League sophistication.
The RAD 2025 Spring/Summer “Black and White” collection is available now at HOAX stores and online, while the exclusive all-black pony hair version will be offered solely at COMPLEXCON Hong Kong during the event.
